How to Appeal a TikTok Ban
Identify the type of ban. TikTok bans fall into three types: (1) content removal with warning, (2) temporary account suspension, (3) permanent account ban. Only type 3 requires a formal appeal.
Appeal in the TikTok app. When your account is banned, TikTok shows a notification. Tap "Appeal" in that notification within the 7-day window. Write a clear, professional explanation: why you believe the ban is in error, or if you violated a policy, acknowledge it and explain why you won't repeat it.
Appeal at tiktok.com/appeal. The web form is an alternative if the in-app appeal is unavailable. Provide your username, email, and the same clear explanation.
Contact TikTok Support directly. Go to tiktok.com/legal/report → "Account issues." This escalates to a support agent rather than the automated appeal review.
Submit a follow-up if the first appeal is rejected. Wait 7–14 days after a rejection before submitting again. Reframe your explanation and add additional context.
