Recovery Methods for 2FA Lockout
Use your saved backup codes. Facebook provides 10 single-use backup codes when 2FA is set up. Check password managers, documents, or screenshots from setup.
Get an SMS code. On the 2FA prompt, click "Try another way" and select SMS if a phone number is linked. Facebook sends a code via text.
Approve the login from a recognized device. If you have a phone or computer that Facebook previously identified as trusted, log in there first and approve the new login from that session.
Submit a recovery request to Meta. Via facebook.com/help, submit a support request explaining the 2FA issue. Meta may offer photo ID verification as an alternative authentication path.
