Facebook hacked? Even if the attacker changed your email, phone number, and password, you can recover the account through Meta's hacked-account portal, revert links, Trusted Contacts, and identity verification.
Recovery Steps
Go to facebook.com/hacked immediately. Do not repeatedly try to log in — failed attempts can trigger additional locks. The /hacked portal starts the compromised-account recovery flow without requiring current credentials.
Check for a Facebook revert email. When account credentials are changed, Facebook sends an email to the original address with a "Secure Your Account" link that can revert the changes for a limited time window (typically 24 hours).
Use Trusted Contacts if previously set up. If you designated Trusted Contacts, go to facebook.com/login/identify → "No longer have access?" and select your friends to retrieve recovery codes.
Upload government-issued ID. After exhausting the above, Facebook offers identity verification where you upload a photo ID to prove ownership. Recovery via ID typically takes 3–7 business days.
After recovery: secure your account. Change your password, enable two-factor authentication, review linked apps and sessions, and check for any unauthorized changes to profile info, payment methods, or ad accounts.
